Architect: Daniel Burnham & Co. The lobby of the Oliver Building is similar in many respects to that of the Frick Building, a tall, marble-sheathed T-shaped space. The detailing is very sober, utilizing the Doric Classical order for details. The use of bronze, however, is very sumptuous, and counteracts the coldness of the marble. At the junction of the elevator and rear lobby wings is a marble clock between two austere Doric columns, a memorial to Henry Oliver, a prominent industrialist of the turn of the century.
