Mayor's Message

"It's time to Redd Up Pittsburgh, 'cause company's coming!" That was something former Mayor Bob O’Connor said referring to cleaning up the city for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

Well, the All-Star Game came and the city looked great! But we didn’t stop there. In fact, more and more communities started redding up their neighborhoods, helping to achieve our goal to make Pittsburgh one of the cleanest, safest cities in America. We’re definitely on the right track, but there is still a lot to do.

Our Public Works crews will continue their good work - cleaning up neglected and overgrown lots, towing cars, boarding up abandoned buildings, getting rid of graffiti. Maybe you've seen them redding up your neighborhood. If we haven't been there yet, we'll be there soon.

I’m counting on you to pick up where city workers leave off. On this website, you'll find groups and organizations you can join, along with ideas and information to help you help us Redd Up.

Redd Up is about taking pride in what we have and taking care of it. Thanks to those of you who have continued the effort – you’re doing a great job!

Let’s keep Bob O’Connor’s dream going and keep Redding Up Pittsburgh!
