2008-2009 Information
2008 – 2009 Telephone Book Recycling
Program Has Ended.
The City of Pittsburgh would like to thank our partners Giant Eagle, and Whole Foods for making telephone book recycling more convenient. The City encourages all residents to continue to recycle their old telephone books at the curb with the new Together Green Recycling Program. Residents are able to recycle telephone books, magazines, junk mail, newspaper, and cardboard at the curb along with their bottles and cans.
The Recycling Division would like to remind residents not to leave telephone books at the stores if a “blue” City recycling bin is not present.
Larger amounts of telephone books and other recyclables can still be taken to one of the following City of Pittsburgh, Department of Public Works Drop-Off locations:
2nd Division, P.W. - West Homewood/East Liberty near North Point Breeze on Dallas at Hamilton Avenue.
3rd Division, P.W. - Melanchton Avenue, off the 5200 block of 2nd Avenue in Hazelwood.
5th Division, P.W. - Hassler Street, off Herschel Street next to Herschel Field in the West End off Steuben Street.
Environmental Services - At Railroad Street and 30th Street in the Strip District.
Construction Junction - At 214 North Lexington Avenue in North Point Breeze.
Please contact the Recycling Division at 412-255-2631 if you need more information or details on recycling. www.city.pittsburgh.pa.us/pw/html/recycling.html
