How to Obtain Approval for the Design of a New City Street:
- Step 1: Applicant submits drawings of the new city street to the Department of Public Works (DPW). Drawings shall be in accordance with the City of Pittsburgh standards.
- Step 2: Applicant submits a New Street Name Request to the Department of Public Works (DPW).
- Step 3: When the review and verification process is complete, legislation is drawn up and sent to City Council for approval.
- Step 4: Final approval is obtained from the Mayor’s Office.
Note: The entire review time takes an average of three months.
