Bureau of Police - Fallen Officers
 


It is with deep sadness that we announce that 3 Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Officers were fatally shot in the line of duty on April 4, 2009.

The officers were responding to a domestic call at 1016 Fairfield Ave., located in the Stanton Heights area of the city, when they were ambushed upon approaching the front door of the location. The first three officers on scene received fatal wounds and officers responding as back-up also came under fire.

The deceased officers are:
Officer Eric Kelly (41)
A 14 year veteran of the force; survived by his wife and 3 daughters, his mother, and sister.
 

Officer Stephen Mayhle (29)
A 2 year veteran of the force; survived by his wife, two daughters, his parents and two brothers.
 

Officer Paul Sciullo, III (37)
A 2 year veteran; survived by his parents, 2 sisters and financee.

The injured officers are:
Officer Timothy McManaway (46)
A 14 year veteran of the force.
 

Officer Brian Jones (37)
A 3 year veteran of the force.
