Responsible for performing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the Authority’s general ledger. Working under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Accounting Manger directs and coordinates the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record the revenues, expenditures, assets, and liabilities of the Authority. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter with supervisory, review, and proofing experience. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for preparing annual financial statements and coordinating the Authority’s annual audit.
The ideal candidate must be a Certified Public Account (CPA) with at least two years of experience in the area of financial statement preparation, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, or the equivalent, as well as experience working with an automated financial management system. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) a must.
The candidate must be a City of Pittsburgh resident at time of hiring, or become a resident within six months of hire, and remain so during employment with the Pittsburgh Parking Authority and possess and maintain a current and valid PA Driver’s License. The candidate must also successfully complete an Office of Municipal Investigation (OMI) background check.

A BS/BA degree in business or related field with course work in management, with a minimum of five (5) years work experience, three (3) of which were in a supervisory/managerial position. A Master’s Degree is a plus. Background check and City Residency required.

Responsible for administrative, contract management and purchasing functions within and across Authority departments. Includes construction project management, working with engineers, architects, and various vendors; contract procurement, bid and award. Writing of specifications for annual service contracts, maintenance, construction projects and Requests for Proposals and Qualifications (RFP-RFQ). Acts as liaison and staffing for the Authority’s Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MWBE) participation program in conjunction with the City of Pittsburgh’s Equal Opportunity Review Commission. Skilled in Microsoft 2007 Office Suite. Schedule meetings, create resolutions, compile and generate reports, Excel spreadsheets. Self-motivated problem solver who can work on their own. The Pittsburgh Parking Authority seeks Full Time, Part Time and Temporary friendly, energetic, responsible team players for the Authority's facilities.
Responsible for performing a variety of facility/garage management and supportive functions which include, but not limited to: specialized reports, cashiering, preparing bank deposits, cleaning, maintenance, valeting cars ( ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle – stick shift), dealing with the public, operating and maintaining revenue control equipment, filling out reports, opening and closing of booths. Involves shift work.
Must have a current and valid PA Driver's License Must be or become a City of Pittsburgh resident at time of hiring and remain a City resident throughout employment. An Office of Municipal Investigation (OMI) background check is mandatory. H.S. diploma or GED is required. An associate or advanced degree with a background in accounting is an asset.
