for holidays.

If, after you review the current job openings from the Online Employment Center, you wish to apply in person or be sent an application, follow the steps below.

We now have computer stations available at our Employment Counter for you to apply online or you can submit a hardcopy application.
Request an Application by Mail:
To receive
an application by mail, send us an e-mail. Put "Application
Request" in the subject line. Please include the following
information in your request so we may mail the application and related
information to you.
- First name, middle initial, and last name.
- Your complete mailing address, including street
number, street name, apartment number, city, state, and zip code.
- Your telephone number.
- Job announcement number and title for each position.
- Your e-mail
address, if you have one. Just in case we need to notify
you by e-mail about your application request.
Please
provide complete contact information for each application request.
If you submit a request with missing address/position information,
and we can not contact you, then we can't send you an application.
Application Tips:
- Carefully review the recruitment information
to see if you are qualified and eligible to apply for a desired
position.
- Check to see if there is a specified application
deadline for the position and proceed accordingly. Please don't
wait until the last minute to request, complete or submit your
application. Unfortunately, we can not accept applications
after the recruitment deadline.
- Review the application first, then carefully
and thoroughly complete it. Please note that an incomplete
application may not be processed.
- Note that a resume may supplement but is
not a substitute or replacement for the required employment
application.
- If the position requires City of Pittsburgh residency at
the time of filing an application, then you will need to verify
your City residency when you submit the application
