Civil Service Commission
Function:
The Civil Service System was established to insure the maintenance of a merit personnel system to recruit, employ, promote, and retain qualified persons for employment with the City of Pittsburgh. It is the mission of the Civil Service Commission to administer and preserve the merit system while being responsive to the principles of equal opportunity employment and sound labor-management relations.

Pittsburgh Code Title One, Article III, Chapter 145; Article XI, Section 180.04 and Section 2 of the General Civil Service Act
Board Makeup:
- 3 members appointed by the Mayor of Pittsburgh

- Joseph Kennedy, IV
Residency Requirements:
- Must be a City of Pittsburgh resident
- At least one member must be a Democrat
- At least one member must be a Republican
Compensation:
$150 per diem

Every Thursday at 8 AM
