ARE YOUR CITY AND SCHOOL REAL ESTATE TAXES DELINQUENT?

Unless payment in full is received by December 31, 2009, your account will be turned over to Jordan Tax Service, Inc. Once the account has been turned over to Jordan Tax Service, Inc., you will be assessed an additional 10% service expense and any additional costs and fees associated with the collection as authorized by law.

If you are having difficulty paying your taxes, the City of Pittsburgh does offer payment plans and, if you qualify, hardship payment plans. We strongly urge you to either send payment in full or to contact the City’s Real Estate Division at 412-255-2525 to inquire about making payment arrangements as soon as possible.

Please call the Real Estate Division at 412-255-2525 for the current balance due on your account/s.

The amounts shown as delinquent City of Pittsburgh and/or School District of Pittsburgh real estate taxes are based upon assessment information provided to the City by the Office of Property Assessments.  Therefore, said amounts may not reflect increases or reductions in taxes resulting from assessment appeals which have been decided by the Board of Property Assessment Appeals and Review or the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County if the City has not yet received formal written notice of said assessment changes from the Office of Property Assessments. If the amount of the City and School Delinquency is less than $50.00 the account may not be displayed.  In addition, the amounts shown as delinquent City of Pittsburgh and School District of Pittsburgh real estate taxes may not reflect payments on account which have been made after the date that this website was last updated or which have not yet been processed.

The taxpayer/owner is encouraged to notify the Real Estate Division of the Department of Finance if the taxpayer/owner believes that any of the information appearing on this website is incorrect or incomplete.  Such notice should be in writing and should be forwarded to:

TAX DELINQUENCY REPORT

The City and School District of Pittsburgh have a contract with Jordan Tax Service for the collection of delinquent City and School District real estate taxes. The following accounts were delinquent as of January 15, 2010. Payments received after January 14, 2010 are not reflected on the account. For the current amount due, please contact Jordan Tax Services at 412 345-7960.

The Real Estate Department conducts four Treasurer's Sales each year, usually once each quarter. Each Treasurer’s Sale is normally held at 10:00 A.M. in City Council Chambers, 5th Floor City-County Building, 414 Grant Street. Please review the Procedures for Bidding at the sale. If you bid on a property you are required to pay the upset price at the time of the bid with cash or certified funds. We do not accept personal checks.

The third Treasurer’s Sale is scheduled for Friday, November 20, 2009.
