The Equal Opportunity Review Commission (EORC) assists Minority Business Enterprise / Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) with prime contracting opportunities. Contractors must make a “good faith effort” to include minority- and women-owned businesses on City and County authority contracts. Letters of commitment are included as a part of an inclusion plan submitted to this office. Contracts reviewed become part of a follow-up system to assure that the inclusion occurs.

The EORC honors all government certifications and specific certifications from private and local councils. The MBE/WBE plans submitted to the EORC are reviewed by an 11 member Commission that meets monthly. In addition, EORC monitors contracts for MBE/WBE compliance, performs marketing outreach and does audits and inspection. EORC is proactive in developing opportunities for minority- and women- owned businesses. We specifically focus on outreach programs such as training, technical assistance, and capacity building.

We maintain alliances with many key public and private sector agencies to make certain that the City assists companies seeking opportunities. EORC Outreach and Marketing will match firms with the service and commodities that the City is seeking to purchase.
