City Paramedics Show their "Irish" Heritage at
Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade

Everyone getting ready to march in the St. Patrick's Parade.

The City of Pittsburgh is known for having the second largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in the country.  Pittsburgh Paramedics participated in this year's parade to show their "Irish" heritage.

The Pittsburgh EMS Bureau sent two medic-motorcycles, a BLS ambulance, an ALS ambulance, a District Chief vehicle and a Heavy Rescue truck to ride in the parade.  Along with the vehicles, about 20 paramedics and their families marched in the parade with the Fraternal Association of Professional Paramedics Honor Guard.

Adding to the festive display of Irish cheer, Chief Robert Kennedy amended the standard blue EMS uniform and authorized the wearing of specially prepared green ballcaps embroidered with the Pittsburgh EMS logo in recognition of St. Patrick's Day.

Enjoy the photos of this festive day.
