Reverend Ricky V. Burgess was sworn in as the Member of Council from District 9 on January 7, 2008. He is currently the President Pro Tem for City Council.

The 9th Council District includes East Liberty, Homewood, East Hills, parts of Garfield, Lincoln Lemington, Larimer, Belmar Gardens, parts of North Point Breeze, and parts of Friendship.

Duquesne Light's Proposed Construction Schedule of the Arsenal - Highland Underground Transmission Project - Duquesne Light has begun major improvements to electrical service in District 9. Most of the construction will take place in fall 2006 and will be completed in early summer 2007. Disruptions will be minimized as much as possible, although some inconvenience is unavoidable.
