Reverend Ricky V. Burgess was sworn in as the Member of Council from District 9 on January 7, 2008. He is currently the President Pro Tem for City Council.
The 9th Council District includes East Liberty, Homewood,
East Hills, parts of Garfield, Lincoln Lemington, Larimer, Belmar Gardens, parts of North Point Breeze, and parts of Friendship.

Ordinance amending and supplementing the Pittsburgh Code, Title Eleven – Historic Preservation, Chapter 1101, Historic Structures, Districts, Sites and Objects, sub-section 1101.03(i)(4), so as to extend time frame of designation requirements and add new language. 
Resolution providing for the creation of the City Council District 9 Crime Prevention Trust Fund and setting conditions for the deposit and expenditure of such funds. 
Ordinance amending and supplementing the Pittsburgh Code, Title One – Administrative, Article IX – Boards, Commissions and Authorities, Chapter 177, Equal Opportunity Review Commission, Section 177A.04, so as to reformat this section and add new language. 
Ordinance supplementing the Pittsburgh Code, Title One: Administrative, Article VII – Procedures, by adding a new Chapter 166, entitled City Vehicles. 
Duquesne Light's Proposed Construction Schedule of the Arsenal - Highland Underground Transmission Project - Duquesne Light has begun major improvements to electrical service in District 9. Most of the construction will take place in fall 2006 and will be completed in early summer 2007. Disruptions will be minimized as much as possible, although some inconvenience is unavoidable.
