Carrick today retains the traditions of its proud independence and
is the first "Green Community" in the city. Parts of Carrick

The Carrick business district is unique in that it
consists of three commercial zones which are linked by a combination
of accessible and free-standing neighborhood stores. The zones
are anchored by supermarkets. The hilly terrain serves to
insulate the area. Carrick also has two shopping centers,
a neighborhood library, a swimming pool, a wide range of recreational
facilities, and numerous churches. Public transportation lines
are abundant in this neighborhood.
Houses in Carrick vary from Victorian to townhouses,
ranches to split-level, apartments to rowhomes.
Carrick, unofficially called the "Hill Top", includes
young professionals, families and elderly people. It's not
unusual for several generations of one family to live on the same
street in Carrick.
