Fineview
is one of Pittsburgh's best kept secrets! Carved in the side of
a hill in the northern part of Pittsburgh, this Northside community
can be mistakenly overlooked. Ironically, Fineview has one
of the best views of Downtown Pittsburgh around. Right behind
Allegheny General Hospital, and just minutes from downtown, it is
hard to believe that this rural-feeling community is so conveniently
located.
Still,
the residents of Fineview and the
Fineview Citizens Council are always trying to improve their neighborhood.
As one example, Fineview Crest II, a housing development, was completed
and sold in 2001. As another example, the Fineview Overlook was
completed, in
conjunction with two past presidents, Candace Cain and Bruce West.
Fineview's hillside is under consideration to be one
of Pittsburgh's newest greenways. When this designation is
completed, Pittsburgh's public staircases will receive renowned
recognition as these staircases lead you to overlook a purely magnificent
skyline and other scenery.
