Pittsburgh City Council visited each district in the summer of 2008 to listen to the concerns of district residents and learn more about their neighborhoods. City Council members visited District 1 on June 12, 2008.

The neighborhoods of Brighton Heights, East Allegheny, Fineview, Marshall-Shadeland (Brightwood), Northview Heights, Observatory Hill, Perry Hilltop, Riverview Park, Spring Garden/ Deutschtown, Spring Hill-Cityview, Summer Hill and Troy Hill and Herrs Island/ Washington's Landing make up City Council District 1.

Standing Committee Assignment

Councilwoman Harris serves as the Chairperson for the Committee on Hearings.

The Committee on Hearings has charge of the jurisdiction and scheduling of:

  • Appointments and Reappointments
  • Executive Sessions
  • Public Hearings [ Schedule ]
  • Public Meetings

All communications or matters to be brought forward to Council from any of the City authorities shall be directed to the respective Council Member serving on the authority's governing body.
