The use of
banners as a way to identify upcoming events, institutions, organizations,
even city neighborhoods, has become a popular method in our community.
The Art Commission, in collaboration with the City of Pittsburgh’s
Department of City Planning and Department of Public Works, has
developed guidelines and appropriate documents to assist organizations
and communities in the process of establishing an effective banner
program while simultaneously striving to maintain an aesthetic and
consistent quality of design throughout the city.
