The Commission works to eliminate discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations through education and civil rights law enforcement. Any person, group of persons or organization(s) claiming to be harmed by an alleged unlawful discriminatory act may file a complaint.
If you believe that you have been discriminated against by an employer, housing provider, or public company or service, on any of the bases outlined below, please complete the following Inquiry Contact Sheet. A representative of the Commission will contact you for further information to determine if the alleged charge falls within the jurisdiction of the Commission and if so, to draft a formal written complaint.
Completing this Inquiry Contact Form DOES NOT constitute the filing of a formal complaint. It is the first step in the process. Formal complaints must be filed directly with the Commission within one year from the date of the alleged unlawful act. There is no charge for filing a complaint with the Commission.
You may also contact the Commission on Human Relations during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at 412-255-2600. Its offices are located at 908 City-County Building, 414 Grant Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-2464.
Appointments are preferred but not necessary.
