Building
Codes
Construction in the City of Pittsburgh must conform to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s statewide building code, generally known as the Uniform Construction Code (UCC). As part of the UCC, the Commonwealth has adopted the International Code Council’s (ICC) family of codes which are listed below. Only these codes as first published and their errata, as amended by the Commonwealth and City of Pittsburgh, are in effect. The UCC may be viewed at the PA Department of Labor and Industry’s website . Copies of the model codes only, without amendments, may be obtained from the model code organization.
