Theft Indicators:
- Driver youthful age, driving to late at night.
- Furtive looks, nervous, = head bobs
- Driver not familiar with area.
- Driver not familiar with car and accessories.
- Late night slow driving through residential areas.
- Reckless Driving, no concern for vehicle.
- Clean car/ dirty tag or clean tag on dirty vehicle.
- Multiple juveniles in vehicle.
- Cars caravanning through residential areas.
- Temporary tags from any state.
- Open windows in inclement weather.
- Missing parts: wheels, radio, seats.
- Illegally parked or abandoned.
- Interior lights left on at night: glove box.
[ top ]Tell Tale signs of Theft:
- Door molding no longer "fits" car (fit & finish at the factory is perfect-- sign of "flexed window.")
- Slight damage under door lock molding (slip tool used under molding to open door).
- Broken glass -- usually passenger side rear window, especially in winter.
- Steering column is wrapped with tape or a shirt to cover theft damage to column.
- No ignition in the car.
- Key in car, but ignition is in the off position.
- A plate that is carelessly or hurriedly attached.

- A driver who appears to be underage.
- A driver who looks away when he spots an officer/ marked police car.
- A driver who wears gloves in warm weather.
- A driver operating vehicle on a flat tire or rim.
