When You Need A Pawnbroker License:
Anyone who carries on the business of a pawnbroker must obtain
a license from the License Officer.
How To Obtain A Pawnbroker License:
In Person: Go to the City Licensing and
Permits Office, 200 Ross Street. Click here

By Mail: Download the License Application.
You will need the Adobe
Acrobat Reader© to view or print the form.
Once downloaded, print the application, fill it out completely,
and mail it and all other relevant materials listed under
"What To Bring With You" and "Fee" below to:

Make all checks and money orders payable to Treasurer,
City of Pittsburgh.
What To Bring With You:
When applying for a Pawnbroker License in person, you must
bring the following materials with you, or your application cannot
be processed.
- The name of the licensee (your name), proof of identification,
and any other name under which your business is to be conducted.
- The address of the business you are licensing.
- Hours of operation.
- City tax ID Number.

fill it out completely, and bring it with you to the Licensing and
Permits Office to speed up the process.
